Alfonso is a senior consulting actuary and Director in the Human Capital Benefits segment at Willis Towers Watson. Alfonso has 14 years of consulting experience on the strategic design, funding, cost and risk management, administration and participant experience for retirement plans, savings plans, post-retirement welfare plans, financial wellbeing programs and integrated employee wellbeing programs.
Alfonso earned a B.Sc. in Actuarial Science from Universidad Anahuac (Mexico City), a post-graduate degree in Change Leadership from Universidad Anahuac with post-graduate studies at Harvard University. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary.
Alfonso has a passion for talent development and inclusive workplaces. He has been involved in companywide initiatives for training, onboarding and career development for colleagues within his line of business. He is part of the talent development and people management team in his local office. He has led local chapters of his firm’s employee resource groups (ERG) for LGBTQ+ colleagues and has collaborated on the Inclusion and Diversity team for the US Southwest. He currently co-chairs an ERG for colleagues with disabilities, neurodiverse conditions and mental health challenges in the North America region.
In his downtime, Alfonso’s interests include travel, politics, personal finance, pop-culture, TV/film and spending time with his husband and dogs.
